A holiday paradise summer and winter, at an altitude of over 1000 m, just waiting to be discovered.
The village of Engelberg (which translates literally as 'angel mountain') exudes old-world charm and boasts a famous Benedictine monastery, wonderfully invigorating countryside and magnificent alpine scenery. Cable cars take you in all directions, whether to the 3020 m Mt. Titlis Glacier, Mt. Brunni or the Fürenalp. In summer, breathe in the fresh alpine air and treat yourself to new experiences, including family-friendly footpaths and steep, narrow trails for more proficient hikers. There is a choice of 14 official mountain bike trails, and e-bikes for hire that make child's play out of challenging ascents. By contrast, in winter the resort offers an appealing mix of skiing slopes, where snow is guaranteed.
