6th Night Horn Sled Race at Mörlialp
“Horn heil” (or hail horn) is how diehard horn sled racers greet each other when the top teams meet up to test their skills. Horn sledding is far more strenuous and dangerous than regular sledding. The teams are racing downhill at a speed of up to 70 km/hour. Horn sled races have also been successfully held at other places for many years and are always a highlight for the spectators.

The night sled race starts on the sledding run at the chairlift mountain station near the Bully Bar. The finish is located immediately adjacent to the Mörlialp mountain restaurant.

Of course, during the race the run is closed to the public for safety reasons.

Even if you’re not a horn sled racer, it is a cool event to watch as the teams navigate the fast and challenging course.

The horn sled race will be held again at Mörlialp next year on 7 February 2015.
