The young musicians from the Windsor High School Orchestra Colorado / USA is touring around Europe and invites yoo to this concert on the shores of lake Lucerne.
The Windsor High School Symphony Orchestra has quickly become one of the leading high school orchestras in the state of Colorado. They perform several concerts every year and work with some of the leading professionals in the United States.
Consisting of 29 string players and a handful of winds, the Windsor High Symphony Orchestra performs a wide variety of of the most recognized music from the Classical to Modern eras. They have also premiered over 5 brand new compositions by their director, Mr. Chris Pilsner.
Several members of the orchestra have been accepted into elite honor orchestras such as the Western States Honor Orchestra, Colorado All-State Orchestra, and Combined League Honor Orchestra. Students who have graduated from Windsor High School have gone on to become music teachers, professional performers, and more.
Chris Pilsner Bio
Composer and conductor Chris Pilsner is becoming an established name in the contemporary classical world. His compositions for orchestra, wind ensemble, and chamber ensembles has been acclaimed by audiences, performers, and conductors worldwide and receives hundreds of performances every year. As a conductor, he frequently guest conducts ensembles from across the United States.
Chris’ compositions have been performed by groups as diverse as professional ensembles, universities, high schools, all-state/honor ensembles, and even in Carnegie Hall. He also works closely with the Scottish Session Orchestra, an session orchestra consisting of players from the some of the most elite orchestras in the United Kingdom.
Chris holds a Masters of Music in Composition at Central Michigan University where he studied with renowned composer David Gillingham. He also holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
In his 5th year as director of orchestras at Windsor High School, Chris has built and established a program that is now recognized as one of the highest-regarded orchestra programs in the state of Colorado.
In the event of bad weather, the concert takes place at the catholic church Weggis.
