During the first autumn weekend Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Igor Levit devote themselves to the legacy of Ludwig van Beethoven
The first autumn weekend of the Lucerne Festival 2020, programmed within the framework of the new festival structure, will be shaped by two artistic personalities who are currently attracting attention with their radical and unusual interpretations: the violinist
Patricia Kopatchinskaja and the pianist Igor Levit. From 20th to 22nd November, they can be experienced in a varied programme of five concerts and in different formats.
"Beethoven Farewell" is the title of the musical weekend, which, at the end of the Beethoven Year, will once again take a look at the work of the great classical composer, but at the same time will focus on what happened after him: with works by Leoš Janáček, Charles Ives and György Kurtág, among others.
