Carmina Burana – Between Fate, Love, and the Joy of Life: With “Carmina Burana,” Carl Orff created one of the most impressive works of the 20th century. It is based on medieval texts about the vicissitudes of fortune, love, spring, celebration, and the transience of life. Even the famous “O Fortuna” places the wheel of fate at the center: fortune and misfortune, rise and fall, lie close together. Orff combines these ancient texts with powerful rhythms, catchy melodies, and striking tonal contrasts. The result is music with an immediate impact—at times monumental and dramatic, at other times exuberant, tender, or humorous. Together with the Höfe Project Choir, the Uster Singers’ Association, and renowned soloists and pianists, we present one of the most impressive and beloved choral works of the 20th century. The Sängerbund Uster and the Höfe Project Choir bring together dedicated amateur singers who take joy in challenging choral music. Both choirs are under the musical direction of Alexander Seidel and regularly collaborate on joint concert projects. For *Carmina Burana*, they come together to form a powerful choir of over 80 singers. The performance lasts approximately 70 minutes.
