Concert with AION

"Tales of in-between" is the title of the AION concert at the Pavillon am See. The creative quartet takes the audience on a journey into stylistic in-between worlds. The music of composer, guitarist and oud player Christian Berger moves between the soundscapes of oriental music, chamber music ideas and improvised music. The lovingly arranged themes are catchy and are developed and interwoven live with the freedom of improvisation. Individual pieces thus become sound journeys. They take the audience out into the world - and back to themselves. The melancholy of the oud, the Arabic lute, characterises the soundscape, as do the melody lines of Thomas Küng on soprano saxophone or flugelhorn. Groovy and colourful, Dominic Doppler creates a rhythmic world on the extended drums, which, together with the bass lines of Jürg Surber on the double bass, form the dynamic foundation of AION's music.
