150 years ago - on June 4, 1875 - the Arth-Rigi Railway opened its service between Arth am See and Rigi-Kulm. A walk from Arth to Goldau provides lots of information about the valley railway line, which initially extended to Oberarth and was extended to Goldau seven years later.
