«Ember of a Burned Soul - Glut einer verbrannten Seele» von Noah Di Bettschen
=============================================================================

- Art

Noah Di Bettschen is exhibiting his works on vulnerability, loss, and self-reflection in Sursee. It is a powerful exhibition that touches the viewer.

 From November 19 to 29, 2026, the Kunstregion Sursee (KRS) will present the solo exhibition “Ember of a Burned Soul – Glut einer verbrannten Seele” by artist Noah Di Bettschen at Sursee City Hall.

When Words Are No Longer Enough
Noah Di Bettschen’s large-format, figurative paintings are permeated by surreal and ghostly apparitions. He combines his visual worlds with self-written text fragments, deliberate quotations, and spontaneous streams of consciousness.

His artistic work emerged from a personal exploration of loss, trauma, and isolation. Writing was initially a path to self-reflection. When words were no longer enough, painting became part of the process. This gave rise to works that grapple with vulnerability, inner conflicts, and the human psyche.

Many of his works are self-portraits. They reveal not only the visible but also emotional states—raw, direct, and at times uncomfortable. Vulnerability is not seen as a weakness here, but as an expression of honesty and strength.

The exhibition at Sursee City Hall invites visitors to immerse themselves in these visual worlds, to take a closer look, and perhaps even to recognize a part of themselves in them.

Art in the Heart of Sursee
With this exhibition, the Sursee Art Region brings contemporary art right into the heart of Sursee’s old town. For eleven days, City Hall will serve as an exhibition space and a meeting place where art, artists, and the public come together.

About 15 artists from the Sursee Art Region are volunteering for the project. They will be on hand during opening hours, assist with setup and takedown, handle organizational tasks, and facilitate guided tours for school groups.

In this way, the KRS aims not only to present works of art but also to make access to art as personal and accessible as possible.

Opening Reception During the “Lichterglanz” Festival
The exhibition will open with a vernissage on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The date was deliberately chosen to coincide with the Sursee Lichterglanz festival. This allows a visit to the atmospheric, bustling old town to be combined with a journey of discovery through the exhibition.

JANOSZ will provide musical accompaniment for the opening reception.

The Sursee Art Region looks forward to numerous encounters, conversations, and shared moments surrounding an exhibition that aims to move, challenge, and inspire reflection.
