Pilatus Z‘Nacht

Every Saturday between June and September you can enjoy a "Pilatus Z'Nacht" (Pilatus Dinner) on Lucerne's local mountain. Here, gastronomy meets a romantic sunset at 2128 metres above sea level. The Restaurant Bellevue offers an evening meal with a twist: after an aperitif and an appetizer buffet, diners head outside to admire the spectacular sunset over Lake Lucerne before returning indoors for the main course. The experience is enhanced by the commentary of a Pilatus expert, who knows all about the local ibex and the peaks you can see in the distance. Then at 10 p.m. a special service on the world's steepest cog railway takes you back down to Alpnachstad.

Sunset rides Fronalpstock

Enjoy a stunning sunset over Lake Lucerne on the Fronalpstock. The chair lifts from the village Stoos to the Fronalpstock run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. from season start until end of October. Visit the cosy summit restaurant for a tempting evening meal. Its terrace offers unique views of the orangey red play of colours in the sky. There's musical accompaniment in fine weather.

Candlelit dinner in Niederbauen

Enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner at the Berggasthaus Niederbauen. Nestled in the midst of candles, you're served a delectable four-course meal. The culinary theme varies from evening to evening and ranges from alpine cuisine to a culinary world tour – the menu is as varied as the colours of the sky at sunset. The aerial cableway brings you back down to Emmetten at 10 p.m., or you can spend the night at the inn and start the day with a hearty breakfast. The candlelit dinner takes place all year round on selected dates.

Bürgenstock Sunset

A shuttle boat and funicular railway convey you in comfort from Lucerne to the Bürgenstock Resort, where the Spices Kitchen & Terrace, Salon 1903 or Sharq Oriental Restaurant offer diners a drink of their choice. The Bürgenstock Resort boasts views of the breathtaking mountain panorama and the sunset over the Lake Lucerne – the perfect place for seeing the evening out in a stylish ambience. The return trip to Lucerne is also by rail and boat.

Sunset cruise on Lake Lucerne

Experience a cruise where water, wind and sun conspire to produce a colourful natural spectacle. The sunset cruises on Lake Lucerne take place daily from 9 June to 5 September 2021. The Tuesday to Saturday cruises are aboard a vintage paddle steamer, while those on Sundays and Mondays are on the MS Diamant: treat yourself to a meal on deck during the two-and-a-half hour round trip and relax while watching the sun slowly slip over the horizon.
