Lucerne through Turner's eyes

Follow in the footsteps of Joseph Mallord William Turner, master of English Romanticism: the British artist painted a great deal in the Lake Lucerne region. Opening in July, an exhibition at the Museum of Art Lucerne shows how he saw the Rigi in the 19th century: colourful, shimmering, mysterious.

«Turner. The sea and the Alps» at the Museum of Art Lucerne

2019 finds the museum marking its 200th anniversary with a very special exhibition: "Turner. The sea and the Alps". In collaboration with the Tate Gallery, some 100 works by the British traveller and landscape painter Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) are being presented.
