The spectacular, mobile concert hall Ark Nova offers a variety of short concerts of different musical styles for 11 days: from classical and folk music to jazz and pop.
"Music is hope". This is what festival director Michael Haefliger, star architect Arata Isozaki, artist Sir Anish Kapoor and concert agent Masahide Kajimoto said to themselves. Together, they created the world's first inflatable concert hall after the Fukushima earthquake disaster: the Ark Nova, a symbol of hope. In 2013, the Ark Nova opened its doors in Japan and gave the victims of the tsunami confidence and new perspectives.
The mobile art object, which can be inflated in just ten minutes, impresses with its combination of art and architecture and offers space for 300 people. With its color scheme and round, soft shapes, the Ark Nova conveys a sense of security and warmth. As a functional art object, the Ark Nova realizes the idealistic aspirations of its initiators: To give hope and inspiration through the power of art, culture and music.
From 4 to 14 September, the "New Ark" will be coming to Lucerne for the first and only time - with a musical program for everyone. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience first-hand how Ark Nova brings art, music and people together, inspires and gives hope.
