Natural History Museum Lucerne – for natural scientists of all ages

×

The Natural History Museum shows how nature has evolved in an engaging, entertaining and interactive way.

Its three floors are divided into various areas focused on animate and inanimate nature. The permanent «Earth Sciences» exhibition concentrates on the history of our planet and the evolution of the Central Swiss landscape. The permanent «Biology» exhibition looks at the region’s flora and fauna and includes numerous animals in aquariums and terrariums. Meanwhile, the permanent exhibition titled «The wonderful world of insects» focuses on the incredible diversity of insects in the collection of researcher Walter Linsenmaier from Ebikon (1917–2000).

«Gwunderstunde» research sessions for children

Every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Natural History Museum runs special sessions for children, during which they explore various aspects of nature. The topic changes on a monthly basis.

The museum also offers other family-friendly activities. Further details can be found on the website.
