The Kleintheater was founded in 1967 by Emil Steinberger and his wife Maya. He was keen to promote and create opportunities for freelance stage artists. The Kleintheater Luzern is thus one of Switzerland’s oldest theatres of its type.

Its programme includes cabaret, straight theatre, dance theatre, children’s theatre, music and literature. It attracts famous cabaret artists, musicians and stage artists as well as unknown local talent.

With its motley programme, the Kleintheater is a mainstay of Central Switzerland’s cultural life.
