Alp cheese is stored in the over 100-year-old cellar in the heart of Lucerne City. A visit to the Chäs-Chäller store is a treat for lovers of traditionally produced raw milk cheese.
Combine a visit to the Chäs-Chäller store with a group cheese tasting session. The Chäs-Chäller store combines quality and originality and offers a special taste experience.
During the tour, you get to taste the excellent alp cheese accompanied by home-made fruit loaf and select wines from the region. You also learn a great deal about the cheese being stored.
The building and cellar were built at the end of the 19th century and are protected as listed monuments. The cellar was originally used to store ice for keeping milk on delivery carts cool in summer. From 1911 to 1915 it was used for mushroom cultivation, then as a cheese store by Molkerei Galliker AG.
