Stanserhorn:

This is the local mountain of Stans and, along with Rigi and Pilatus, is one of the most famous panoramic mountains in Central Switzerland. The Stanserhorn (1900 m) with its famous revolving restaurant can be reached easily by cable car or via various hiking trails from Stans or Wirzweli (1200 m)in about 3 hrs. The panoramic view of the summits over the glacier-covered high Alps in the south and the many lakes of the midlands is absolutely phenomenal. We spend the descent either in the cable car or on well-developed hiking trails over alpine pastures and through shady forests down to Stans (450 m). Hiking time: 6 - 7 hrs

Price for guided tour, 1 – 4 persons: Fr. 520.00

Rigi-Kulm:

One of the most famous mountains in Switzerland with its world-famous panorama is definitely the Rigi. As early as 1863, the English travel pioneer Thomas Cook first led a group on mountain paths up the Rigi (1800 m), the highest point of this mountain range. At that time there were no mountain railways. We are not taking the same route as Thomas Cook, but the exciting northern route. This route leads us in 3.5 hrs from Küssnacht (450 m) up to Seebodenalp, further up to the far visible rock bands of the north side, to the Rigi-Staffel (1600 m). Half an hour later we arrive in Rigi-Kulm.

Price for guided tour, 1 – 4 persons: Fr. 535.00

Rophaien:

The Rophaien (2100 m) towers over the Lake of Uri at Flüelen. We start in the small village Riemenstalden (1030 m). A path runs through the forest, along some hairpin bends to the huts of Alplen and to the small dreamy Alplerlake. The lake, romantically embedded between green pastures, trees and craggy cliffs, is a jewel of the foothills of the Alps and one of the prettiest places to linger. After a good 3 hours walk to the summit, we are rewarded for the long ascent by a incredible panoramic view. After the well-deserved rest we take the descent on the ascent route back to Riemenstalden under our feet.

Price for guided tour, 1 – 4 persons: Fr. 580.00

Klingenstock - Fronalpstockridgehike: Between Brunnen and Sisikon, with dense forest areas and wide rock face bands, the Fronalpstock (1900 m) rises almost vertically above the Lake of Uri. If we do not want to take the chairlift Stoos - Klingenstock, we will reach the Klingenstock (1900 m) in 2-3 hours. From this panoramic mountain to Fronalpstock (1900 m) begins one of the most beautiful tightrope walks in Central Switzerland. Along this trail we have a breathtaking view of the mountains and lakes of Central Switzerland. What a pleasure! From Fronalpstock we descend over alpine pastures back to the summer health resort Stoos, starting point of our hike. Hiking time: 5 -  6 hrs

From the Göscheneralp bus stop, the hut trail leads first over a short ascent, then 5 km slightly uphill past the Göscheneralp Lake into the Chelenalp valley. A steep final ascent of about 720 m leads to the hut of the same name.

The first settlement of Göscheneralp at an altitude of 1700 m dates back to the 17th century. According to tradition, several houses were built in 1653 in the valley surrounded by high mountains. Later a church was built and so the Dörfli accrued, which for 300 years was the highest permanent settlement in the canton of Uri. Life in this seclusion was not easy, especially in winter. Apart from maize and grain, which were supplied, one was predominantly dependent on the self-sufficiency.
In 1870 6 families lived, i. e. a total of 38 people on the Hinteralp, the valley floor of today's Göscheneralp reservoir, and 48 people lived in Gwüest. The pioneering age of alpinism, which began in the 19th century, brought some variety and additional income. Famous mountaineers and scientists found their way to Göscheneralp.

On Chelenalp we will hear the legend of the „Röti-Hund" and make sure whether he is still hiding in the wild stone ruins.

From Andermatt we hike on an alpine road through the Unteralp valley to the Vermigelhut. Alternatively we can cover the first half on the southern side of the valley until shortly before Sandstafel on a mountain path.

On the 2nd day the way leads us from the Vermigelhut in serpentines high past the small Maighels Lake and further to the Maighelpass. After a short descent into Val Maighels we hike a few kilometres on an alpine road past the Maighelshut. Later a beautiful path leads down into a long hollow and leads us northwards up to the Oberalppass height .

After the 2nd World War, various military accommodations were no longer needed in the Swiss Alps. One of these buildings is located in the area of Vermigel in the Lower Alp valley, southeast of Andermatt and was left to the Zofingen section of the SAC for use and maintenance in 1946. The section equipped the hut with woollen blankets, crockery and firewood, thus creating a base for 20 people.

After the church above Göschenen we follow the markings on the well-developed mountain path, which leads us through the wooded slopes, constantly ascending through the Schwändiwald, the Chüeplangge, the Harten Plänggli and the Salbitstafel to the Salbithut.
By the way: on the Salbytenalp a ghost is said to have waited 500 years on a rock slab until a hunter saved him. Who knows if we'll find these two up here?

The name Salbiten derives from lat. silva (forest) and is derived from Romanesque traces of the pre-Alemannic period and testifies to the former high forest. Numerous fossil woods from moors still allow a look into these forests today. Climatic changes and the incipient alpine economy, use of pasture and wood, as well as deforestation had the effect of lowering the forest line by approx. 300 m (from New Year's Gazette Historischer Verein Uri, Volume 81-82).

On the 2nd day we hike via Grubenseeli through a colourful landscape with larches before we dive into the fir forest at Regliberg. Here we meet the ascent route, on which we hike back through the wooded slopes down to Göschenen.

We leave the Windgällenhut on the 2nd day and choose the longer way via Tritt to the Hotel Maderanertal. A harmless but winding descent to Saasalp follows. At the vantage point we enjoy the view towards the glacier again. We turn downhill following the arrow to „Hotel SAC". Through wild landslide area and panoramic cow pastures we reach the mountain hotel Maderanertal (Balmenegg). It was opened in 1864 as „Hotel SAC". A gentle ascent leads us from Muotathal over the Höchi pass crossing to the Lidernerhut. Way crosses and chapels accompany the tour through the wildly romantic valley. The hut lies in the middle of the Lidernen area on a panoramic point (1727 m) above the village of Chäppeliberg in the Riemenstaldner valley. The surrounding gentle mountain landscape, which merges into a series of beautiful rocky peaks to the south, such as the Rossstock (2461 m), the Fulen (2490 m) and the Chaiserstock (2514 m), is a magnificently varied terrain for mountain enthusiasts in summer and winter.

On the 2nd day we follow easy paths from the hut to the Alplen Lake . It  is situated at 1507 m between green pastures, trees and rugged rock faces, romantically embedded. The lake is a jewel of the foothills of the Alps and one of the prettiest places to linger. From here we hike downhill over a meadow slope to the huts of Alplen, further along a forest path through the forest, along some hairpin bends down to Riemenstalden. With 70 inhabitants, it is the smallest municipality in Canton Schwyz. A few houses, a church and the restaurant Kaiserstock form the picturesque village centre. The Riemenstaldertal is also known for its unique flora.
