Book tickets for «The Silver Roundtrip» and enjoy a fascinating half-day or full-day trip on the Pilatus, Lucerne’s local mountain.
From Lucerne railway station, take the train to Alpnachstad, where you can ride the world’s steepest cogwheel railway to Pilatus Kulm at an altitude of 2,132 metres in only 30 minutes. The views of the winding Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains are fantastic. Pilatus offers numerous footpaths as well as a range of food outlets, restaurants and hotels.
The «Dragon Ride» aerial cableway floats you down the other side of the Pilatus over rock formations to Fräkmüntegg, where you can let loose in the largest rope park in Central Switzerland, hurtle down the toboggan run or even spend the night in a tree tent. Also available here are restaurants and wonderful barbecue spots.
The next leg of the trip involves riding a panoramic gondola car down to Kriens. On the way, you have the option of stopping off at Krienseregg to visit the PILU Land adventure playground. Once in Kriens, a bus whisks you conveniently back to Lucerne railway station.
The Silver Roundtrip is available from early/mid May through to mid November.
