Lake Melch lies at alt. 1920 m in the Melchsee-Frutt holiday region. Fishing is possible here all year round: the lake is home to six species of salmonids. Last winter saw some 1000 fish caught.
You can spend a day on the ice with an ice-fishing guide between January and mid-April. He'll accompany you and advise you on the right technique. You're allowed to catch five trout or char a day: bring your tackle with you, or you can hire the rod and snowshoes and buy the bait locally. You're provided with a shovel and an ice drill.
The ice fishing package costs CHF 60.00 per person, and the applicable hours are from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Register online at melchsee-frutt.ch
