This mountain route passes several fortresses from the Second World War. The facilities have been restored to their original condition and can be visited upon request.

**Fortress «Spitz»:**
Of the originally four existing facilities in the Rigi/Sattel area, only this work is still accessible and preserved in its original condition. Unusual is the armament on lever carriages with 7.5cm field guns 03 L30 (standard gun of the field artillery at the beginning of active service). The infrastructure of these works was minimal. The kitchens, most of the ammunition magazines, and the accommodations were arranged outside the works.

**Facility «Eggeli»:**
