The hike leads up and down through the rather unknown landscape between Nebikon and Zell. Along the way, the Landgasthof Sonne in Ebersecken and the Kurhaus Ohmstal are two excellent restaurants to stop off at.

Directions

From Nebikon northwards, following the shallow course of the Wigger stream, hikers soon catch sight of the unmistakable silhouette of the historic village of Altishofen on the left. Altishofen Castle, built by "Swiss King" Ludwig Pfyffer, towers majestically over the Wiggertal with its outbuildings, magnificent garden and church. It is worth taking a breather in the midst of this historic scenery, as the path climbs steeply through the forest and soon descends again to Ebersecken. The ups and downs are characteristic of this hike. As you walk over the hills, new views open up again and again, past farmsteads with plenty of agricultural land and down into the next valley. The path winds its way to Ohmstal. The Maria Opferung chapel was built on the site of a former monastery. The highest point of this hike is on the Bodeberg. Once again, the fantastic view of the distant mountains beckons before the hiking trail leads down to Zell.
