From Nottwil the trail leads through the hamlet of Bühl up to Tannfels Castle (now in private hands), idyllically located above Lake Sempach. The ascent offers striking views of the lake, which is flanked on both sides by gentle hills.
Once on the Bluemeberg, the trail follows the edge of the Sigerswil forest and traverses the Gustiberg forest. You finally reach Buttisholz, a peaceful rural community in Lucerne's Rot valley. Treat yourself to refreshments here or take a look at the parish church.
Along the flank of the Bluemeberg, you cross over again from the Rot to the Suren valleys and back to Nottwil. End the hike and treat yourself to something thirst-quenching at the Beachbar.
