The free sports bus takes you from Engelberg railway station to the Brunnital station, where you take the gondola up to Ristis. Here at the mountain station begins the 2.9 km long Riedalp snowshoe trail heading east. It starts on the winter hiking trail "Schneetandliweg" along the edge of the forest to the Ried. At this viewpoint, the view of the Hahnen is breathtaking. From there, it goes uphill first over an open field and then along the forest. The trail leads back to the starting point, going up and down past the wildlife resting areas, parallel to the panorama trail back to the mountain restaurant Ristis. Return to the village by train.
The snowshoe trail can also be walked in the opposite direction.
