Explore the Brunni area with snowshoes and enjoy breathtaking views on the sunny side of Engelberg. The free sports bus takes you from Engelberg station to the Brunni valley station, where you can take the Brunni-Bahn on Ristis. The 3 km long Schönenboden snowshoe trail starts at the restaurant Ristis and first follows the road west past the valley station. After about 1 km, it goes uphill; once at the highest point, enjoy the view of Engelberg. The trail then leads downhill and crosses the winter hiking trail. Back to the starting point, it first goes over open terrain and then along the forest. This route has several altitude meters to overcome, making it somewhat longer and slightly more demanding than the Riedalp trail.
