Historic buildings
Today, only the late Romanesque bell tower remains of the original building. The church was first mentioned in 1275.
The nave of the main church was probably renovated at the end of the 15th century and enlarged between 1618 and 1621, so that it had to be re-consecrated. After an extension in the 18th century, it was given its final form for the time being. On 22 July 1887, the church building was flooded by Eibach. The parish of Lungern, under the initiative of priest Johann Vogler, decided to build a new church in a safer location (Herz Jesu parish church). A suitable building site was found on the rocky spur at the southern end of the village, the "Sattel".
