Weggis, Vitznau, Rigi

The towns of Weggis and Vitznau are located directly on the shores of the majestic Lake Lucerne, at the foot of the Rigi, in the heart of Switzerland. The easiest way to reach the summit of the Rigi is by taking the Vitznau-Rigi cogwheel railway, Europe’s first mountain railway. Thanks to the mild climate, many southern plants—such as palm trees, orchids, and chestnut trees—thrive in this region.
