Camera Arts Meets Bourbaki: The Panorama from New Perspectives
Fourteen students in the Camera Arts bachelor’s program at HSLU have rediscovered the Bourbaki Panorama—using various cameras, colored light, and plenty of curiosity. They explored the Panorama from unusual perspectives, worked both in front of and behind the scenes, experimented with projections, and even involved passersby in their work. The images captured with a large-format analog camera offer a unique visual experience, in which the painting seamlessly transitions into three-dimensional space. These works evoke early photographs from the period of internment and bridge the gap between historical photographic practice and the contemporary present.
