From Küssnacht to Einsiedeln - from Muotathal to Pfäffikon: the cultural heritage of the canton Schwyz is presented in all its diversity in 27 towns and villages. With a total of 136 individual events, there is something for every taste: from film premieres and painting workshops to improv theatre and the Ländler-Stubete. Various events are organised especially for children. But younger people interested in culture are also welcome at most venues.
More than 50 artists show their studios:
A major highlight is the many open studios and exhibitions organised by Schwyz artists, which provide an exciting insight into their everyday lives. During these days, interested parties can visit the artists' workplaces and experience first-hand where the creative work processes take place. Last year's acquisitions for the cantonal art collection will once again be on display in a special exhibition.
On the road with the culture bus:
If you want to experience as much as possible in a short space of time, it's best to book one of the popular Saturday bus tours. The culture bus connects highlights of the weekend in a direct way and establishes contacts between like-minded people. The interesting explanations and background information provided by the guides is an added value.
The cultural weekend celebrated its premiere in 2010 and has been organised every two years since then. The entire programme is available on the website.
