Once again this year, we invite you to a festive Advent concert. Under the theme “Bach in Advent,” Johann Sebastian Bach’s Advent cantata “Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland” (BWV 61) will be performed by strings and vocal soloists. The program is complemented by works by Michel Corrette, Louis-Claude Daquin, and Dieterich Buxtehude.
This concert also honors the 100th anniversary of Karl Richter’s birth as part of the International Bach Network Festival and combines historical performance practice with new perspectives on Bach’s music. It is part of the international initiative of the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Academy Hamburg under the patronage of Ton Koopman.
