Music pavilion: Chantal Lagier

other events
Chantal Largier, pianist and composer, lives in Switzerland, performs internationally, composes after an accident and connects cultures through her music.
Chantal Largier discovered the piano as her personal language of expression at the age of six. She moved to Tokyo at the age of eleven, studied intensively with renowned teachers and performed successfully from an early age. Back in Switzerland, she studied music in Basel and Zurich and then taught in China, where she gave almost 100 concerts in over 20 cities, including the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and the Shanghai Symphony Hall. After her return in 2018, she taught in Meilen until a serious accident in 2022 forced her to take a temporary break and led her to composing via improvisation. Since then she has released several albums, starting with TIMELESS, and now lives in Switzerland, composes, performs internationally and maintains her lifelong relationship with the piano via her own 1940 Steinway grand piano.
