Then and now
Beekeeping is indispensable for agriculture and biodiversity, but it is becoming more demanding. Beekeepers are increasingly struggling with unstable flowering and weather conditions. These are important factors that determine how much food bees can actually find. Added to this are the rising disease pressure and new threats such as the Asian hornet.
Peter Christen, a beekeeper and advisor from Kehrsiten, shares from long-standing experience how significantly these changes affect colony management and what strategies are needed today to maintain healthy bee colonies and reliable pollination performance.
The event takes place in the Sust at the Herrenhaus Grafenort, and admission is free (collection). The café-bar in the Sust opens at 6:45 PM. Please note: Seating is limited – the principle "first come, first served" applies.
