Various exhibits in the museum raise controversial questions in the current debate on democracy. These include, for example, the growing emphasis on nature conservation and environmental protection, as well as the introduction of rights for animals and the environment. Do these new rights conflict with our personal rights and our own happiness?
There is rarely a clear “yes” or “no,” but there is the formation of opinions and lively debate—democracy, in other words.
The exhibition was developed as an upcycling project in collaboration with Happy Museums, an initiative promoting sustainability in the museum sector. Elements from a previous exhibition by the development organization Helvetas were repurposed and reused.
The upcycling project is supported by the Mercator Switzerland Foundation.
