The Beizli is the perfect meeting place for hikers, bikers and those seeking relaxation. The Lütholdsmatt offers a magnificent panoramic view. The Alpbeiz Lütholdsmatt is open from the beginning of May to the end of October. It is also easily accessible by car and is the starting point for various hikes in the Pilatus region.
The name Lütholdsmatt is said to derive from the hard life of the shepherds Lîden and dolen (suffer and tolerate). Tradition has it that a ghost sometimes appears early in the morning on the Oberstafel Tumli, dressed in shorts, a red vest and a high hat. He lets out a whoop and disappears again.
