Bike tour Lake Ritom

The route starts at the Gotthard Pass. The starting point is conveniently reachable by post bus from Andermatt. At the beginning, the route follows the alpine bike route towards Passo Scimfuss, the highest point of the entire route. The small road gives way to an alpine path that leads over Alpe di Pontino into Valle Canaria. Shortly after the small stone houses in Sotto Corte, the stream is crossed on the left, then continue along the drive to Madrano. Later the route follows the road to the entrance of the village of Brugnasco. The ascent to Lake Ritom mostly takes place in the forest; only from the upper station of the Ritom cable car does the forest clear. The view from the dam over the lake opens up the view to Passo del Uomo and Sole. The descent to Altanca can be managed on an old mule track. From rustic Altanca, follow the small road to Brugnasco; shortly after the village, a hiking trail branches off to the left towards Madrano. The trail entrance is somewhat rocky, but after just a few meters, the path offers pure riding enjoyment.
