The Blauberg is known for its sweeping views of the famous surrounding peaks.
The ski tour to the Blauberg begins with a gondola ride up to the Gemsstock. After a short descent, the ascent to the Gafallalücke begins. From there, the route leads through “Im hinteren Loch” down into the Guspistal. At about 3,350 m above sea level, the next ascent begins toward the Sunniglücke.
A ski depot is set up at the Sunniglücke. The final section to the summit of the Blauberg is covered on foot. Once at the top, an impressive view of the surrounding mountains opens up, featuring well-known peaks such as the Galenstock and the Pizzo Centrale.
For the descent, the route first heads back to the Sunniglücke. From there, there are two options to choose from:
- Via Guspistal: Descend back into the Guspistal valley and continue to the Gotthard Pass Road. The route then follows the pass road—which is closed in winter—to Hospental.
- Via Alp Fortünei: Descend westward across Alp Fortünei to the Gotthard Pass Road and from there continue on to Hospental.
