Rigi Klösterli – Heiterenboden – Unterstetten – Dossen – Hinder Dossen – Rigi Scheidegg

"Up and down" is the motto for the Rigi Dossen hike. From Rigi Klösterli to Unterstetten, the path steadily ascends. The climb up the Dossen is then a physical challenge. After descending to Hinder Dossen, the path gently rises again before you reach the final destination, Rigi Scheidegg.

A varied high-altitude hike crowned with summit ecstasy! From Rigi Klösterli, the path gently ascends over Heiterenboden, through the well-maintained mountain forest, across lush meadows, up to Unterstetten. Here you encounter the route of the former Rigi-Scheidegg railway. By the way, at Unterstetten there is still the impressive railway bridge from that time. Treat yourself to a break at the generously stocked picnic spot. Afterward, the steep slope of the Dossen must be conquered. From its summit, you enjoy a phenomenal view down to Lake Lucerne and the Bürgenstock peninsula. From the highest point of the hike, a gentle descent follows over the Hinter Dossen and the almost flat path to Scheidegg. From Scheidegg, the aerial cableway takes you down to Kräbel, where you can transfer to the cogwheel train.
