The Erlebnisweg Obersee is currently the largest and connecting tourism project at the upper Lake Zurich and links the cantons of Schwyz, St. Gallen and eight municipalities around and across the lake. The path runs mostly along the Obersee on existing hiking and bike routes, through forests and nature reserves. Along the way, you will meet various character heads or members of the Obersee secret society. They all tell exciting, mysterious, surprising, sad and also funny stories. At the related experience points, you can learn more about them.
All members of the secret society guard a treasure that is, however, threatened to sink into the depths of the Obersee. They send you on a secret mission with the explorer backpack. If you manage to solve their tasks, you will be admitted to the Obersee secret society and thus become the guardian of the Obersee treasure.

Directions
From Lachen station, walk via Mittlere Bahnhofstrasse, Herrengasse, past the Holy Cross parish church to the Old Schoolyard towards Seeplatz and the harbor.
There you will discover the composer Joachim Raff and the Raff archive. At Marina Lachen a bit further ahead, you can refresh yourself for the first time and purchase the explorer backpack.
Then continue along the lake, past the Badi Lachen and playgrounds towards Lachner Aahorn. There on the wooden jetty awaits the Great Crested Grebe. Also visit the lookout tower and enjoy the view over the wonderful Lachner Aahorn nature reserve.
Continue past Wangen airfield through Nuolen and towards Golfpark Zurichsee. At the parking lot, walk past the Irsslinger winery up the gravel path until you meet Lotti Laus.
Then keep right and follow Bachtellenstrasse to the Golfpark clubhouse.

If you are in the mood for a round of golf, you're in the right place.
Or prefer a culinary refreshment? Then head into the golf restaurant.
On the Golfpark grounds, there is a beautiful circular path with various themed panels, e.g. about amphibians. You can enjoy spending some time around the Golfpark.
From the Golfpark, it goes over the Buechberg to Höchegg. At Blindenhof, the path heads towards Tuggen city. You can take the bus back to Lachen.
Congratulations! You have completed two stages.
More character heads will follow soon. So it's worth hiking this route a second time.

- Please be considerate of both hikers and cyclists on the trails.
- You can of course also start the route in Wangen and hike to Lachen.

Safety guidelines
Due to the severe storm on July 26, 2021, unfortunately the jetty at Lachner Aahorn, where the character head of the Great Crested Grebe is located, is currently not accessible. The jetty was heavily damaged and the restoration will unfortunately take some time. The tower, which is located in the same area, is accessible. There are also listening trumpets there. Only the character head with text and picture cannot currently be visited on the jetty.
