BOREDOM - surprisingly diverse

Exhibition
The exhibition about an underestimated feeling - BOREDOM
It’s those moments – in the lift, stuck in traffic, or sitting in the dentist’s chair…

Where time stretches and thoughts wander, there is a quiet companion: boredom. It is not simply emptiness or «pleasant idleness.» Rather, it is a state of tension. Or, as psychologist Dr John Eastwood puts it: «Boredom is the unpleasant feeling of wanting to engage in a satisfying activity but being unable to do so.»

Many see boredom as something negative to be quickly dispelled – with a smartphone, small talk, games, or other distractions. Yet boredom can also be a precious space: an interim state that sparks creativity, allows new ideas to take root, or forces us to look more closely. Boredom holds up a mirror to us, revealing the needs that lie dormant within.

The multimedia exhibition «Boredom – surprisingly diverse» offers a fresh perspective on this underestimated feeling. Explore boredom with us from different angles and discover just how multifaceted it can be – at times exhausting, at times stimulating, and sometimes unexpectedly enriching.
