With "Christmas in Lucerne", the audience can expect a musical Christmas experience of a special quality, which has long since become an integral part of the Advent season.
The concert combines the powerful sonority of a large wind ensemble with festive choral works to create an unmistakable sound experience. In an atmosphere that is both festive and concentrated, a touching program unfolds, carried by high musical precision and a great deal of emotion. An international ensemble of first-class musicians, a renowned professional choir and selected vocal soloists lend the evening a special expressiveness.
You can hear well-known Christmas melodies from Europe and overseas, classical works and traditional songs such as "Silent Night", "O du fröhliche" and "O Tannenbaum". Flowing transitions and festive choral passages set new accents time and again.
Between the musical highlights, narrative elements provide special moments: Christmas stories, verses and personal thoughts create closeness and enrich the evening. In previous years, the audience has been able to experience well-known actors and actresses from Germany and Austria, including Sky du Mont, Barbara Wussow, Patrick Fichte, Sebastian Ströbel, Henning Baum, Michaela May and Miroslav Nemec.
Concert duration: 135 minutes (incl. interval)
