AmaConsort stands for musical joy, curiosity, improvisation, and lively interaction with the audience: together we leaf through our music book, bring various sound colors to life on historical instruments, and weave our own sound story.

How can one resist so much musical zest for life? – Katrin Poese, Donaukurier 2023

This approach is inspired by the centuries-old tradition of making music in a "living room setting" with friends and family for larger compositions. With changing instrumentations, we not only revive well-known repertoire but also bring new discoveries to sound.

AmaConsort has performed on international stages such as the Bozar Centre for Fine Arts Brussels, Music Festival Eichstätt, Interfinity Basel, and at the Zwischentöne Festival Engelberg. Radio productions with Südwestrundfunk, Bayerischer Rundfunk, and Icelandic Ríkisútvarpið document AmaConsort's performances.

With “Visions of Delight – A Masque revisited,” AmaConsort brought its first immersive and participatory format to the stage in 2023. In 2021, AmaConsort won the first prize at the renowned Early Music Competition “Van Wassenaer Concours” in Utrecht and was selected for the “International Young Artists Presentation” at the Amuz Festival in Antwerp. At the German Music Competition in 2019, the ensemble was awarded the special prize from BR Klassik. AmaConsort was also the Rheinsberg Court Orchestra in 2019/20 and received the Fringe Audience Award from the Oude Muziek Utrecht Festival.
