As is customary in this wonderful tradition, the winner will once again receive a magnificent Rigi cow as a live prize this year.
The Arth Alpine Herders’ Association keeps these traditions alive. The cattle drive up to the alp remains an integral part of the mountain festival on the Rigi. After the fourth round, cattle and alpine equipment are presented by approximately 70 people on and around the wrestling arena in a 10-minute parade. The traditional alpine equipment is owned by the Schindler family, who have been responsible for the parade for three generations.
Entertainment at the festival grounds:
Folk band, yodeling performances, flag-waving, alphorn players, goat herders
New date: August 2, 2026
