Designated a cultural monument, the Stadtkeller lies in the heart of Lucerne’s Old Town.
The four-storey stone house with its Gothic character and polygonal oriel tower is a symbol of Lucerne's history. At the beginning of the 16th century, Schultheiss Alfons Sonnenberg built the town cellar and as early as 1876, a pub was run on the mezzanine floor of the residential building. This tradition has survived for many generations.

The longest-serving event restaurant in the city of Lucerne

During the summer months, from April to October, original Swiss folklore shows with traditional Swiss customs and traditions take place in the Stadtkeller: Alphorn, cowbells, traditional costumes, flag-waving and yodelling.

The winter months belong entirely to lovers of the legendary Stadtkeller concerts. Swiss dialect rock, pop, blues, jazz and comedy nights bring the Stadtkeller to life as a concert venue.

Every year, at the end of winter, carnival breaks out in the streets, alleyways and squares of the old town - a roaring party is guaranteed. Experience the Lucerne Carnival in the centre of the Old Town with a dignified festive atmosphere and many Guggenmusik performances.
