Crystal-clear mountain lakes, bubbling streams, majestic glaciers – the backdrop for mountain bikers between Engelberg and Melchsee-Frutt is world-class. And the trails are impressive too. The Four-Lakes Route combines great scenery with fantastic flow experiences.

From Engelberg station, the starting point of the 4-Lakes Bike Route «Express», you go to the valley station of the Titlis Xpress and comfortably up to Trübsee. The short section of about 1 km along Trübsee, the first lake of the route, passes by on a wide path with the bike. The well over 400 meters of altitude from Trübsee to Jochpass can be mastered with the chairlift. From here, the flow fun starts; it goes over a beautifully laid out singletrail, the Hells Bells Trail (1-meter path width) towards Engstlensee. Need a short break? A refreshment is offered by the crystal-clear glacier water. After passing the lake, there is an ascent via a steep gravel path to Tannalp. At some narrow sections, the bike must be pushed. On a wide asphalt road along the deep blue Tannalpsee and beautiful alpine meadows, you reach Melchsee, the fourth lake of the route. In Melchsee-Frutt, there are various restaurants with sunny terraces where you can enjoy the panorama and recharge for the return journey. On the way back, it goes the same way to Engstlensee. Up to Jochpass and the starting point of the trail highlight, the Jochpass Trail, the chairlift takes you. The new Jochpass Trail with plenty of flow promises unlimited riding fun over 4.5 kilometers. On a total of 440 meters of altitude, curves, waves, and jumps line up, designed so that beginners as well as advanced riders can ride the trail with equal enjoyment. The Jochpass lift takes you back to the start and the next run. To the starting point of the route, Engelberg station, it goes over gravel paths and asphalt roads past Untertrübsee.
