From Engelberg train station, the starting point of the 4-Lakes bike route, you ride to the valley station of the TITLIS cable car and continue left over the paved Gerschnistrasse (expect work traffic on the road) towards Untertrübsee. Past the Alp Untertrübsee, after about one kilometer, a gravel path turns off to the left. From there, strong legs are required. The coarse gravel places high demands on condition and riding technique. The view of the Titlis and the knowledge that you continue at the top by chairlift make you forget the effort. The more than 400 meters of elevation from Trübsee to the Jochpass can be covered by the chairlift. From here, you go along a beautifully laid-out single trail (1 meter path width) towards Engstlensee. Need a short break? A cooling off is offered by the crystal-clear glacier water. After passing the lake, you follow a stretch of about 600 meters along the Spycherflue uphill to Tannalp. Now you go on a wide paved road along the deep blue Tannalpsee and beautiful alpine pastures, gently downhill towards Melchsee. Upon arrival at Melchsee-Frutt, you ride over the Melchtalerstrasse to Stöckalp.
The route can also be done in reverse.
