Directions
Luthern Bad lies in the heart of Switzerland at the foot of the Napf near Willisau. The pilgrimage site is probably the most visited pilgrimage location in Lucerne.
From the village center, the adventure trail leads along the Mutterkuh Schweiz farms of Beat Huber, Thomas Schwegler, and Severin Walther, who produce Natura-Beef from suckler cow farming. Along the way, you will encounter a variety of breeds, such as Grauvieh, Simmental, Limousin, Brown Swiss, and various crosses. With almost 40 recognized breeds, Mutterkuh Schweiz contributes significantly to breed diversity in Switzerland. Upon arrival at the destination, signposts lead the circular route back to the starting point. Now, in addition to suckler cows, dairy herds and cattle can also be encountered. At the penultimate station, you will learn something about the different herds. Those who have paid close attention can now distinguish cows, calves, and cattle on the way.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
When you reach the destination, it is worth taking a short detour to the holy spring "Badbrünnli" to enjoy an arm and foot bath after the hike. A visit to the self-service shop "Luthern-Lädeli" is also worthwhile.
The ascent from the first farm to the Wishubel hut is a bit steep but pleasant in the shady forest. Those who prefer a more leisurely ascent can do the route in reverse.
