Alpchäs Pass Stoos
With the Alpchäs Pass, you can taste local mountain cheeses along the route.
You can obtain the pass from:
- Cash desks of the funicular at the valley station
- Aerial cableway Morschach-Stoos at the mountain station
- Stoos Hütte Restaurant
- Stoos Shop & Rental, mountain station of the funicular
- Mountain cheese dairy Tröligen
How it works:
The pass is valid once it has been paid for and stamped at the sales points. For only CHF 16, you can taste mountain cheese at 3 of 6 stations. The pass includes a voucher that you can redeem for a small cheese platter with bread at one of the 3 "Beizli" on the route. Two more vouchers, which allow you to enjoy a piece of chilled mountain cheese directly at the alp from the "cheese cabinet," complete the cheese experience.
Stations including places to taste:
- Berghotel Restaurant Stoos Hütte
- Alp Rinderchruteren
- Mountain cheese dairy Tröligen
- Alp Näppänalp
- Alp Metzg
- Gasthaus Restaurant Balmberg
In winter the herders are usually in the valley. Therefore, the mountain cheese tasting offer (Alpchäs Pass) is only available in summer, roughly from early/mid June to mid/end September.
