Erlebnisweg Obersee: Lachen - Schmerikon

From Lachen station via Hintere Bahnhofstrasse past the Holy Cross parish church to the old school square towards Seeplatz (Route 32 SchweizMobil)

There you discover the composer Joachim Raff and the Raff archive. A little further ahead at Marina Lachen, you can refresh yourself for the first time and purchase the explorer's backpack.

Then continue straight ahead on the hiking trail towards Lachner Aahorn to the observation tower. On the jetty, you will discover the Great Crested Grebe. Be sure to also visit the observation tower and let your gaze wander over the wonderful Lachner Aahorn nature reserve.

Then continue past Wangen airfield through Nuolen and towards the Zurichsee Golf Park. Past the golf course towards Buechberg. Shortly before the forest, turn left onto the gravel path. There you meet Lotti Laus.

Tips:

• If you feel like a round of golf, you are in the right place here.
• Or prefer a culinary refreshment? Then head to the golf restaurant.
• On the golf park grounds there is a beautiful circular trail with various themed boards, e.g. about amphibians. You can easily spend some time around the golf park.

Continue towards Buechberg and Grynau. Please stay on the designated bike trail, Route 99 SchweizMobil. First along the forest edge, then through the woods; sometimes uphill and sometimes downhill to Grynau. On the last section, you ride parallel to the Linth.

Tip:

• You will pass the Schrötermoos forest educational trail. There you find a beautiful forest educational trail (about 45 minutes walking on the circular trail)

Upon arriving at Grynau, cross the bridge over the Linth. On the right side along the river, you will find many beautiful bathing spots.

From 2022, you will meet the castle ghost there. Until then, enjoy a refreshing bath in the Linth.

Speaking of Linth: From spring/summer 2022, the Linth ferry is to operate a bit further downstream and shorten the route from Schmerikon to Tuggen.

Now cross the road and follow routes 9/99 to the Aabach bridge. Cross it and follow Allmeindstrasse until before the railway crossing. There turn left onto the lake promenade.

At the table tennis tables, turn sharply left and follow the path towards the harbor. At the fire pit, you will find another secret society member, our Stonebreaker.

Tip:

• Cool down in the Schmerikon indoor and lake swimming pool
• Skills training on the pump track
• Visit the playground and barbecue area

From the Stonebreaker, cycle back over the bike path to the lake promenade and further to the station.

How about a tasty refreshment at restaurant Pier 8716 or at the Tschirky bakery?

Congratulations! You have completed a stage.

Detour: If you still want, continue on the beach path to Ziegelhof. There the Baggerschang is waiting for you with his leather boat.

PS: Soon more characters will appear on this route and between Tuggen and Schmerikon the Linth ferry will offer an option to shorten the route from summer 2022. It’s worth cycling this wonderful route again.

• Please show mutual consideration between hikers and cyclists on the hiking trails.
• You can of course also start the route in Schmerikon and cycle to Lachen.

The route will be supplemented with more characters or members of the secret society by the end of 2022. So it’s worth setting out on the path again from time to time.
