Directions
From Hergiswil train station, the E-bike route leads to Mühlestrasse and then turns left into Renggstrasse. The road winds upwards, past the valley station of the Alpgschwänd aerial cableway, to Lägebrugg. From here, a 4 km long natural path leads up to the highest point of the route, Fräkmüntegg, and then down to Mühlemäss. The route continues down on an asphalt road to Kriens, passing the valley station of the Kriens-Fräkmüntegg gondola. Along the way, numerous neighborhoods and football fields are passed. In Horw, the path runs partially parallel to the motorway towards Hergiswil. The last section of the route follows the marked cycle route no. 3 and 9. You can enjoy the view of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains. On Seestrasse, the route passes by the «Glasi Pub». After a right turn into Bahnhofstrasse, the route ends at Hergiswil train station.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
The route is rideable in both directions. Those who want to simplify the route technically can go up and down via Kriens. The section on the Hergiswil side is gravel in the upper part and relatively steep. The section on the Kriens side is mostly asphalted.
Culinary tip nearby:
Alpwirtschaft Unterlauelen, Hergiswil
At the Keiser family farm, you can stay overnight in the hay or in the unique little huts. Fine specialties of Swiss cuisine are served at the alpine inn. The menu is usually focused on the utilization of a whole animal.
