Lochberg
The Lochberg connects the Ursern Valley with the Göscheneralp Valley and is a popular ski touring destination set amid impressive mountain scenery.
The tour starts in Gwüest at the Göscheneralp Inn and leads first to the Göscheneralp Lake dam. In late spring, when the road is fully open, the tour can also start directly at the dam. If access is only possible as far as Abfrutt, the approach is correspondingly longer.
From the reservoir, the route leads up over the Älrigenplatten. It then continues across the Rundfirn toward the summit. Once you reach 3,075 m above sea level, a sweeping view of the surrounding mountains and various valleys opens up

The descent follows the same route back to the starting point.

- Getting thereIn winter, the road to Göscheneralp is closed. However, Geissenparadies offers a taxi service. As soon as the road reopens, it will also be available for private travel by car.ParkingParking is available right at the Gwüest, along Göscheneralpstrasse, at the reservoir in Göscheneralp, and in the village of Göschenen.Public transportationIn winter, the road to Göscheneralp is closed to public transportation. As soon as it reopens, buses run from the Göschenen train station to Göscheneralp. You can find the current schedule at: www.sbb.ch.
