Maighelspass

The scenery is mind-blowing throughout the whole tour!

Ride to the Oberalp-pass on the (busy) road or hop onto the train to the pass and save yourself the exhaust fumes and 500 m of climbing. Follow the trail south along the road.  Descend to Surpalits and pedal up the gravel road from there. Cycle through the beautiful valley and have a food/coffe break at the Maighels hut if you like. The gravel road turns into a trail soon after and becomes steeper. Strong riders or ebikers might be able to clear most of the uphill to the pass.

The trail downhill is technical and rough on solid rocks with high steps. In the lower part some switchbacks are added to the mix. Technically good riders will enjoy this trail a lot.  At the end of the trail you can have another coffee-break at the Vermigel hut. Follow the alpine road downhill to the north - unfortunately a lot of elevation is lost here... Don´t miss the trail turning-off left after a few kilometers! The last bit is a nice finale to the tour and ends directly in the center of Andermatt.
