Music educational trail - Obwaldner Ghörgang

The Obwaldner Ghörgang was created in 2023 on the occasion of its 50th anniversary by the Music School Sarnen. At 7 stations, the senses are sharpened to the mystery of hearing and the world of sound.

How and why do we hear? How is a sound created? What makes the difference? These and similar questions are behind the idea of this sound path. In this context, the basics of sound generation and the creation of musical instruments are shown. At the 7 stations, special importance is placed on tangible and artistic design. Touching and trying out is encouraged. The stations are robustly built with wood, iron, or stone sculptures and invite playful discovery. Awareness is sharpened and sensitized to listening, the perception of the surroundings, and nature.

Interested people of all ages experience the world of acoustics and can explore it through sound installations and digital media. What is made tangible on site by touch is deepened online (QR codes). Those who want to know more will find explanatory videos, instructions, further content, and educational offers for school classes.
