On the Förster Trail around Seelisberg

We start in the middle of the village Seelisberg at the Tanzplatz. First, we walk about 400 meters east along the road until we turn left into the forest and reach the pilgrimage chapel Maria Sonnenberg. Through the forest, we climb up to the Frutt. Over beautiful natural meadows, we come to the Chänzeli, where we enjoy the view over to the Mythen.

Now we cross a beautiful beech forest; our view wanders along the trees, the view is blocked until we reach the Höch Flue, from where we catch a breathtaking view towards Rigi. On this high plateau, we now walk westwards to the Plattenzug. Here we turn left towards Scheidegg. At Scheidegg, we reach the third viewpoint, which opens the view to the Urner Alps. We follow the wooden signposts back to the starting point or descend to the Seelisberg Seeli. In summer, we take a cooling bath here, picnic, and enjoy the warm sun.

From the Seeli, we then walk east towards Waldweidli and Marienhöhe. Here we take the last great panorama photo towards Fronalpstock. A short break. In 15 minutes, we are back through the Tannwald in Oberdorf at the Tanzplatz, where we comfortably board the post bus home.
